    		<title>Jamaica Play Day</title>
    		<link>https://milegullyhigh.edupage.org/news/?newid=21#news-21</link>
<description>Play Day Jamaica is an annual national observance, typically held in early February that promotes unstructured play fostering creativity, social skills and learning in children. Championed by UNISEF Jamaica and the Ministry of Education, it encourages schools and parents to embrace play time for healthy development.

Play Day 2026 kick started with a 'Pop the Balloon' relay competition lead and organized by our school nurse, Mrs. Burke and our MC, Ms. Reid. Fun games filled the air, and the day concluded with a renewed body and mind as the body had time to have fun. As our common proverb says, &quot; All work without play makes Jack a dull boy&quot; by James Howell, 1659 which means work without break and fun will lead to boredom.
